Injectables

Hyaluronic Acid products for a Nonsurgical natural beauty lift: Aging is caused by a combination of atrophy and loss of volume and loss of elasticity and strength of the retaining ligaments of the face. As aging continues, our diminished production of hyaluronic acid causes the skin to lose elasticity and to accelerate soft tissue loss and wrinkling. Over the past decade, new fillers have been developed that can help the patient look younger by adding volume to these desired areas. They help and maintain a fresh appearance. The most promising and exciting products that have been developed and are in use are the hyaluronic acid products, which Dr. Day expertly uses in his office.

Since 1996 millions of patients have been successfully treated with hyaluronic acid products worldwide. With hyaluronic acid products, you can have a natural beauty lift with the body’s own material. Hyaluronic acid is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel which is a natural substance. The gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to your skin.

Hyaluronic acid products are made in Sweden, Ireland and the United States. In November 2003, the Advisory Committee of the FDA  approved the use of HA for patient use in the United States. Dr. Day has successfully been using injectable products in the office for over 15 years. These products do not require a skin test. The procedure is relatively simple, and only minimally uncomfortable. The  results of these injectable products are instantaneous. The session often takes less than thirty minutes. The time differs somewhat depending on the correction you want to have performed. Hyaluronic acid actually gains in volume because of the binding of water, increasing the volume.

Hyaluronic acid is available in three tissue-tailored variants, each specially designed for a particular different purpose and effect such as smoothing out tiny lines, shaping facial contours or sculpting lips. The difference between the products is the gel particle size and its binding or cross linking. Some hyaluronic acid products have larger and thicker gel droplets. These are used in deeper lines. Other hyaluronic acid products that are softer are injected in a more superficial level. To achieve the optimal result, Dr. Day administers the combination that best matches your skin and personal needs. The three product variations are:

Hyaluronic acid intended for wrinkle correction and lip enhancements.

Hyaluronic acid used for correcting thin superficial lines, around the mouth, for example, forehead lines and smile lines.

Hyaluronic acid used for shaping facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, correcting deep folds and for the volume augmentation of the lips.

What to Expect After Treatment: Immediately after the treatment, you may experience slight redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. With lip augmentation, the swelling may last longer. Some patients experience swelling for about a week. During this time, the lips can look somewhat uneven. This means that the result directly after the treatment should not be regarded as the final result.

A touch-up treatment within one week after the initial treatment may be necessary to achieve an optimal correction.

Finding the least intrusive technique to improve facial features has always been Dr. Day's goal. His patients are presented with the option of using a minimally invasive procedure option for treatment of deep facial lines, folds, and depressions. Physicians are using this technique for some acne scarring and the furrow between the brow as well.  Hydroxyapetite injectables  provide patients with long lasting result.  No pre-testing is required which means you can have the treatment immediately.

After treatment - please note the following:

Avoid touching the treated area within the following six hours.

After treatment, the area can be gently washed with soap and water, and light make-up can be applied.

Until the initial swelling and redness have disappeared, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. solarium and sunbathing) or extreme cold. If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores.

If you are taking aspirin or any similar medication, please note that the treatment may increase the bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
